Meet New Interns and Researchers at GeoScITY

We are pleased to welcome three talented researchers currently contributing to ongoing research projects at GeoScITY, University of Liège.

Engineering Students from ESGIT – IAV Hassan II (Rabat, Morocco)

As part of their final engineering year at the School of Geomatics and Topographic Engineering (ESGIT) of the Agronomic and Veterinary Institute Hassan II, Sara Tetou and Yassine Oudadda are involved in innovative Urban Digital Twin (UDT) research projects in collaboration with GeoScITY.

Yassine Oudadda - Urban Energy Simulation Integration

This project aims to extend the capabilities of the existing City2Twin urban digital twin platform by incorporating simulation mechanisms across various energy use cases. Yassine is responsible for preparing simulation input data, integrating energy simulation results, and ensuring effective visualization and analysis within the platform. Two use cases are being addressed: building-scale heat demand and rooftop solar potential.

Sara Tetou - Human-Centric Urban Digital Twin

Sara’s work focuses on a Human-Centric Urban Digital Twin framework, which explores the integration of subjective citizen data to address real-world urban challenges. This research supports participatory decision-making and promotes bottom-up urban planning, placing citizens at the heart of digital city models.

Rashid Haffadi – Researcher at GeoScITY

Rashid is a researcher actively working on the FloodWisdom project. His expertise spans machine learning, computer vision, 3D modeling, and geospatial data science. He holds a Master’s degree in Data Science and Big Data and contributes to advancing geospatial intelligence in urban resilience projects.
