TreeCity Partners Meet in Brussels for Annual Consortium Meeting

From 9 to 11 June 2026, partners of the TreeCity project gathered in Brussels for their annual consortium meeting. Hosted at the Brussels-Capital Region's Iris Tower and the FARI Institute, the event brought together researchers, technical experts, and stakeholders to review project progress, discuss future developments, and participate in a pilot testing workshop.

TreeCity is an international research project that aims to improve urban tree management through digital twin technologies. By integrating geospatial data, 3D modelling, and information on underground infrastructure, the project seeks to better understand the interactions between trees and the urban environment, supporting more sustainable and resilient cities.

During the meeting, partners exchanged updates on ongoing research activities, planned the next project milestones, and presented demonstrations of the Brussels pilot area. The final day included a stakeholder workshop where participants explored practical use cases and provided feedback on the project's tools and visualisation capabilities.

The meeting represented an important step in advancing TreeCity's vision of bringing urban trees and their root systems into next-generation city digital twins.
